2018: A year of gratitude

WHAT A YEAR

It was so hard to start this year in review.

I’ve had a bit of a writer’s block. There’s so much to write about. But at the same time, I don’t know how to write about it. But here goes…

This year has been quite the rollercoaster of a ride. A lot of it does surround this idea of gratitude though. Google tells me:

grat·i·tude

/ˈgradəˌt(y)o͞od/

noun

the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.

Featured in Niagara Parks Visitor Guide!

Last night, I got the 2018-2019 Niagara Parks Visitor Guide in the mail. If you follow my photography, you know how much I love visiting the Niagara region. This guide is extra special to me; two of my photos are featured on full page spreads!

Thank you so much Niagara Parks for sharing my perspective of Niagara with visitors from around the world. It means so much.

PS. It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve been to the Falls, pick one of these up on your next trip and find my photos!

PPS. Check out more of my photography at amarpreetkaur.com.

2017: A year of fun

HOW DOES A YEAR GO BY SO FAST?

It feels like just yesterday that I was working on my 2016 blog. It was long. But it was fun. This year, 2017, has been a lot of fun. I wanted it to be. There were changes that came around and I wanted to extract the most fun out of them.

With work, 2016 became very busy and I found that I was forcing myself to make time for photography. This year, I did something different; enjoyed every kind of photo I captured and just took some time to take a breath. Life goes by way too fast to not stop and take a breath.

Also, I discovered my ridiculous love for chai and mugs. Hah. Coming below in the journal. Don’t you worry about it. If you don’t believe it, go check out my #whenamardrinks hashtag and account on Instagram now!

I know this post is long. They are always long. I do this more for myself so that I can look through them each year and see how much I’ve evolved through my photography.

Each year always surprises me. Hope 2018 does too.

Me, UofT St. George, and my iPhone

Like I mentioned in the last blog post, I started my MBA at Rotman School of Management. If you don’t already know, I did both my undergrad and first Master’s program at University of Toronto’s Mississauga campus, so I feel like I’m attending a whole new university.

Secretly (shh, don’t tell anyone), I think I applied to Rotman just so I could go to school in Downtown Toronto. I love the architecture, and I love the mix nature and city all around campus. What an absolutely picturesque campus.

For the past three weeks, I have been getting off at different subway stations and walking to the Rotman building to try and find nature-filled shortcuts, hidden treasures, and photo opportunities that’ll make the experience over-the-top worthwhile for me.

Here’s a bit of what I’ve been up to (so far) :-)

I created a VSCO Journal documenting these photos. Check it out here.

Hoping to continue these adventures :-)

Cheers,

Amar
